தமிழ் சமூகத்தில் ஒரு அக்கினிக்குஞ்சு!

லட்சுமி லோகதாசன் அவர்களை தமிழ்முரசுஒஸ்ரேலியா வாழ்த்துகின்றது 

2014 New South Wales Young Woman of the Year எனும் மதிப்பும், கௌரவமும் கொண்ட விருதை லட்சுமி லோகதாசன் எனும் சிட்னி நகரில் வாழும் 18 வயது தமிழ்ப்பெண் பெற்றுள்ளார். லட்சுமியின் சமூக சேவைகளைப் பாராட்டி இந்த விருதை NSW மாநில Premier Barry O Farrell வழங்கி கௌரவித்தார். இந்த விருதை NSW மாநில அரசு இந்த ஆண்டு அறிமுகம் செய்தபின்னர் இந்த விருதை முதன் முதலாக பெற்றிருப்பவர் லட்சுமி என்பது இன்னும் அதீதச் சிறப்பு.
இந்த விருதைப்பெற பரிந்துரைக்கப்பட்ட 239 பேரில் லட்சுமி தெரிவுசெய்யப்பட்டிருப்பது நம்மை வியக்கவைக்கிறது. University of Western Sydney எனும் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் International Studies and Law எனும் பிரிவில் படித்துவரும் லட்சுமி, எதிர்காலத்தில் வழக்கறிஞராக ஒடுக்கப்படும் இனங்களுக்காக சர்வதேசரீதியில் பணியாற்றுவது தமது கனவு என்று குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.

Lakshmi Logathassan is a high-achieving law student from the University of Western Sydney who at just 18, dedicates her time to developing and implementing projects that provide access to education and promote the values of equality and a fair-go for all.

BEE ORSINI FROM FIVE DOCK

"I share my story because the issue of youth homelessness is so hidden and young people aren't reaching out and getting the help they need."
Bee Orsini is a school liaison officer, presenter and workshop facilitator for The Salvation Army's Education and Outreach Initiative. Bee is dedicated to breaking down barriers that hold young people back from reaching their full potential, by equipping young people to better support themselves and others.
