நியூ சவுத்வேல்ஸ் மாகாணத்தில் கடந்த ஒரு மாதத்துக்கும் மேலாக 100-க்கும் அதிகமான இடங்களில் காட்டுத்தீ பற்றி எரிந்து வருகிறது. இரண்டு லட்சம் ஏக்கருக்கும் அதிகமான நிலப்பரப்பு தீயில் கருகி நாசமாகி உள்ளது.
இந்த காட்டுத்தீயில் இதுவரை இரண்டு தீயணைப்பு வீரர்கள் உள்பட 13 பேர் பலியாகி உள்ளனர். மேலும் வனவிலங்குகளும் பெரிதும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளன. 2 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட கோலா கரடிகள் தீயில் கருகி செத்ததாக பாராளுமன்றம் சமீபத்தில் கூறியது.
இதற்கிடையே நியூசவுத்வேல்ஸ் மாகாணத்தில் முன்னெப்போதும் இல்லாதவகையில் வெயில் கடுமையாக சுட்டெரித்து வருகிறது. கடந்த சனிக்கிழமை அங்கு வெயிலின் அளவு 42 - 49 டிகிரி செல்சியசாக பதிவானது.

The Saiva Manram’s 1st charity event for
2020 was held on the 2nd of January 2020 at the Sydney Murugan
Temple located in Mays Hill NSW 2145.
Giving a helping hand during such a difficult time is our
Saiva Religious Philosophy. Accordingly, a dinner was arranged for the Bush
Fire Appeal to collect monies for the NSW Rural Fire Services with well over
500 people attending.
Dr Hugh McDermott State Member for Prospect for the Labour
Party, who is also a Brigade President and a volunteer firefighter with the
Rural Fire Service -Horsley Park attended as our Chief Guest and gave an
emotional speech recollecting his memories of his fellow firefighter friend who
sadly lost his life recently whilst on duty.
Mr Bandara from the Sri Lankan Consulate General for
Sydney and Councilor Mr Suman Saha from the Cumberland Council also attended
this event.
A sum of $21,000.00 was raised prior to the day’s
event and a further $1,500.00 during the event.
