When completing the census form, please take the following into consideration;
- Question -12 - Country of Birth ---------please write 'Ceylon' (this is not in the drop down menu - select 'other' and write 'Ceylon') - if you select Sri Lanka, you will be counted as Sinhalese. In the last census, all S/Lankans were counted as Sinhalese. Hence there was a huge spike in the Sinhalese numbers and equally drastic fall in the Tamil numbers in the statistics, which resulted in negative ripple effect for the Tamils.

- Question -18 - What is the person's ancestry - Tamil
